The Daughters, The Interpreters and The Family

Pre-sale, Publication due in March 2026

Author: Eliane Esther Bots

This book brings together narratives of conflict-related experiences and memories from three distinct perspectives: second-generation Dutch-Bosnian daughters, interpreters who worked for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and the Adajew family, who fled the wars in Chechnya and resettled in Warsaw, Poland. The publication is organised into four parts: the first three reflect these distinct perspectives, while the fourth features a selection of documents, including paintings, drawings and poems. A special section in the third part of this publication is dedicated to the translation of a part of Homeland's Commandments, a collection of Chechen poems, into English.
