Purpose
“The foundation supports documentary makers in developing publications that reflect on their work and process.
It focuses on:
- enabling filmmakers to publish materials, experiences, and methods connected to their films
- supporting knowledge exchange and experimentation across image, text, and sound
- making the process of documentary filmmaking accessible through publications
The foundation operates on a not-for-profit basis and serves the public interest.
Approach
- To achieve its purpose, the foundation:
- supports the development and publication of maker-driven projects
- seeks financial resources to provide limited support to filmmakers
- offers guidance in reflection, creation, publishing and promotion
- connects filmmakers and strengthens collaboration, including internationally
- collaborates with publishers and cultural organizations
